Behind the Seams: a semester of style

Have you always dreamt of designing your own fashion collection? This is the class for you.  This 15-week session is all about creating a mini collection of your very own. We will learn about important figures in fashion history, explore various fabric manipulations and surface design techniques, draw fashion illustrations, develop patterns, make samples, conduct fit sessions, and sew up a final mini collection that will be shown at our student-produced runway show. If you love fashion and are comfortable sewing on a basic sewing machine, you won't want to miss out on this class.

Spring 2026 semester classes take place every week starting January 23, except for during BPS Spring break (March 22-28).

Fashion show is tentatively scheduled for the evening of May 9th- times and location will be announced at a later date.

Payment information: The full semester cost is $575 for this class with most supplies included (will need to purchase fabrics for final collection).

Payment plan is available with a 50% deposit at sign up. Remaining cost will be divided into 3 equal payments of $95.83, with final payment due at the beginning of April. Invoices will be sent for payments to email you provide at checkout.

Course will take place at our shop at 315 Brevard Ave in Cocoa Village.

Your instructor is Alisa, who has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years, working in children's wear, women's wear, costume design, and currently owns trekALLa. She taught fashion design courses for over a decade at colleges throughout Texas and started offering fashion camps for kids during the summers while in grad school.  She has two kids, a dog named Waffles, and a husband who is used to finding random spools of thread all over their house.
