I used these in the plus cut. I wanted to test them out and see how well they would actually stay up, sometimes I’m a skeptic.
Workout: the sleeves stayed up to a majority of my workout. I took them off for pushups and hung them to dry outside of my basement gym. They were dry by the time I was done with my core workout. So minimal slippage during weights, fast dry when hanging outside and no extra tight feeling around my arm ever.
Hiking: At first the sleeves rubbed my arms and it felt like they were chaffing. I pulled them a bit higher, closer to my arm pits rather than halfway down my upper arm, and that feeling was gone. Again, there was some movement with the fabric on the inside of my arm where my skin rubs, but very minimal slipping down my arms. The sleeves stayed put very well.
Pros: you don’t have to worry about which sleeve goes on which arm. Fast drying. Minimal movement. Adjustable on your body to sit where you feel most comfortable. No hard elastic digging into your arms. Folds or rolls up small for easy packing in your gear. They fit into my Fanny pack perfectly!
Cons: I had one arm that’s a little bigger than the other so they felt a little different on each arm, that’s not so much a con as a weird tactile thing for me. They are pretty light weight for as warm as they were so if you hang dry them in a windy day, be prepared to chase them 🫣 if you’re someone that doesn’t like to feel something fitting on your upper arms, you’ll need to play around with placement to get them to sit in a way that won’t bother you.
Truly, there weren’t any cons for me. I can see where it would be weird for someone that didn’t like form fitting things in their arms to have them on but as I stated above, they are easy to adjust and move around to get that feeling to go away. These are perfect for those Spring/Fall days where it’s cool in the morning but you don’t want to pack an entire jacket! A great gift for a hiker for sure.
